Well hello there!
Maybe you've been seeing us around....
We were SO excited when
Christina Doody of Love & Honey<insert collective "Ahhh, I love her!"> showed us the inspiration board for The Loveliest Day styled shoot last fall. While we were conservatively selective in which shoots we were involved in last year, this one... well, we just couldn't resist. Christina styled the shoot so perfectly and with such sweet details. We chose creamy blooms of dahlias and champagne toned quicksand, the ever so elegant Lady Slipper orchid, and for our show-stopper: the King Protea. Layered on a bed of organically designed mixed eucalyptus greens and ferns, the effect was super soft, romantic and dreamy. It truly was a lovely day at The Ivy Place, and we were spoiled with perfect temps and awesome sunshine. Some of our favorite shots taken by the uber talented and Allison Kuhn are below. Oh and did we mention this was featured in Weddings Unveiled Magazine?!

Inspire Magazine Styled Shoot
We seriously love our friends over at Inspire Magazine. They not only inspire, but uplift and carry true the ideals of healthy love and marriage. We jumped at the chance to provide for a styled shoot featuring a real couple who are full of "Faith and Hope." Styled by sweet and lovely Ashley Cash of The Graceful Host, photographed by uber- talented and extra spunky Julie Staley of Old South Studios, and with a whole gang of awesome wedding industry experts, we trudged through rain and mud to get this shoot complete. But was it worth it? We think so!
Ashley gave us the color palate of Dusty, Pale Blue, Navy Blue, Canary, Moss Green, Driftwood Silver, Gold Leaf, and Peach. And with a few buzz words like "All-American Elegance," and "chic and feminine," our wheels started turning. We were also given the design concept of mixing elements and timeframes. So we chose classically beautiful and timeless milk glass and paired it with brushed metal and stoneware for our container options. We combined fragrant freesia and tuberoses for a nostalgic nod, and soft yellow oriental lilies for remembrance. We threw in Hydrangeas, a medley of Roses, Dusty Miller, Thistle, Hypericum Berries, and mixed ferns for texture and color. Our borrowed Boy Scout patch for the boutonniere (doesn't get more All - American than that!) at first was more for fun. But upon our research, we learned that there was so much symbolism in this logo that perfectly matched all that this shoot embodied--duty, honor, direction, truth, knowledge, strength, and bond. Perfect pairing, just like the couple this shoot was in honor of.
